Meek Mill: Drake’s track dissing him is ‘soft’
But Drake seems to have taken his time to respond in a good way and not fall into the trap of the media, which made Meek Mill’s accusations the headline of the week.
Meek hit out at Drake earlier this week claiming he refused to promote Meek’s recent album Dreams Worth More Than Money, despite featuring on it, because he was confronted about using other writers.
Mill said Sunday night that that a song Drake wrote dissing him is soft like baby lotion. Daylyt took Drake’s side, calling him “a cool Canada dude” and bringing up the co-opted persona of Meek’s label-boss Rick Ross.
As the two performed onstage together during a set on Nicki’s The Pinkprint Tour, Meek issued a “special apology shout out” for his online behavior, explaining that he was “just upset as a fan”.
Miller has a songwriting credit on that song, along with five tunes from Drake’s surprise “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late“.
Some fans are even saying that Nicki Minaj is also taking shots at Drake, who released a Meek Mill diss song the day before. The n*gga gave me a verse for my album. Of course Mill saw the reality of the situation (and the light) really quickly and apologized to both Nicki and Drake. In a new Tumblr post, however, Miller denies claims he ghostwrote lyrics for Drake. I wouldn’t be surprised if he continued to stay quiet – until his next album comes out, of course. “Keep killing. You motivate n– like us”. “6 God is watchin”, I just hope you’re prepared to face him, I’m charged up, I’m charged up”.
But Drake wasn’t the only member of the rap community Meek called out. “He’s also a musician and a producer and a creator…There’s countless number ones and songs Drake has written for others never mind himself, that’s the amusing part lol!” he wrote.
