Meek Mill Found Guilty of Violating His Probation, Faces Jail Time
Meek Mill took an “L” in court on Thursday (Dec. 17), when he was found guilty of probation violations, and is now facing jail time.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Meek Mill is testifying in a Philadelphia courtroom and insists he never intentionally ignored travel restrictions or other probation rules.
Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley had already let Meek off without jail time in a 2009 drug and gun case, and was not amenable to hearing it this time. had heard it all before.
In the Spring 2015 issue of XXL Magazine, the 28-year-old MC opened up about his views on Judge Brinkley when she sentenced him to six months in prison last year.
Meek Mill could soon learn the result in his probation violation case.
The lawyer of Robert Rihmeek Williams, the rapper professionally known as Meek Mill, recently talked about the seriousness of his client’s relationship with Onika Tanya Miraj, more popularly known as Nicki Minaj. “I am”, Minaj told the judge. “I’m trying to do better and feel like I can be the best rapper out there”.
“He’s not ideal but I can’t believe how much he’s changed”, she said, before telling the court she plans to help her boyfriend get organised and fulfil his community service requirements. I think it was the best thing that happened to me at that time.
His girlfriend Nicki Minaj, 33, one of the biggest stars in music at the moment, also offered supporting testimony to Mill, who lost his father to violence at the age of five.
“I know the people who support you really want you to get probation”, Brinkley told Mill. “He doesn’t have a lot of structure”.
“He’s not a person who knows how to keep schedules”.
Nicki Minaj’s “The Pinkprint” turned 1 on Tuesday, December 15. He also broke down while telling the judge that he couldn’t leave the state to go see his mother in New Jersey while she was undergoing surgery.
