Meek Mill’s cousin shot and killed in Philadelphia
Meek Mill is mourning the death of his cousin, 21-year-old Angelo Colon, who was gunned down Tuesday night in Philadelphia.
Meek Mill took to Instagram to pen a tribute in honor of his cousin being a victim of street violence while also expressing his greater mission to be a positive role model to his younger family members’ lives and save them from the streets. “Probation is the only thing that got me tied to coming back here so frequent!” “#RIPLO hurt me to see you in this same spot lifeless!”
Homicide Captain James Clark said a burgundy-colored vehicle drove past Colon and the other man, and the occupants opened fire.
The mayhem began in West Philly, where a 25-year-old man sustained several gunshot wounds, including in the chest and shoulder, at 52nd and Wyalusing Avenue just after 9 a.m.
Musical artists Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj watch the game between the Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers on January 30, 2016. The 21-year-old was one of five people killed by either stabbing or gunshot wounds.
Fellow rapper T-Pain also lost a loved one to violence last month. He was transferred to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
About 9:10 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot twice in the back in the 6600 block of North Opal Street in West Oak Lane. Police have not made any arrests.
Singleton, who lived on the block, was taken by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
