Meet Homer’s New Love Interest in ‘The Simpsons’ Premiere Clip Spinoff Online
“The Simpsons”, which premiered in 1989, has told the story of donut-loving nuclear plant worker Homer, long-suffering Marge, bratty son Bart, precocious daughter Lisa and her clever baby sister, Maggie. Lena’s character flirts up a storm with a married Homer, and they end up in bed together! Homer is diagnosed as a narcoleptic and he files for his prescription. Lena Dunham, 29, guest stars as Candace on the season 27 premiere of The Simpsons as Homer’s new love interest.
People were curious as to whether or not Homer and Candace’s relationship will escalate on the episode, but Jean was hard-pressed for spoilers. Dun, dun, dun! She’s dressed in a racy halter top and jeans.
Homer’s vote in the presidential election also is in play.
Let’s back up a bit.
And now Lena – or, rather, the Simpsons character that the star has lent her voice to – has revealed herself as the other woman in Homer’s life (and, from the looks of Lena’s latest Instagram snap above, his bed too). Candace isn’t coming onto the scene alone.
She even shares her views about him to her skeptical friends, voiced by Dunham’s “Girls” co-stars Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, and Zosia Mamet.
According to Christian Post, executive producer Al Jean confirmed this in an interview and revealed that now that Homer and Maggie are legally separated, Homer will be involved with someone else. After the internet exploded, Marge and Homer broke their silence about the news. “I mean, if she didn’t dump me when I nearly slept with the donut lady…”
She seems to think so, joking with her 2 million followers that she was a “home wrecker”. Will Lena become the most talked-about homewrecker of the century?
Check Dunham’s scene in the clip above, then tune in for The Simpsons season 27 premiere on Sunday, September 27 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
