Meet Omaha’s first Leap Year Baby of 2016

“The only problem is deciding when will we celebrate her first birth”, she says.

Lily-Rose arrived just over one week early and after a five and a half hour labour much to the delight of her parents.

Ferreira says, “Babies are special regardless but to have their birthday fall on this day is something historical for them and for their record”.

The chances of being born on Leap Day are one in 1,461. We’ve had four couples come in so far today and got married and all of them were jovial and laughing about the fact that they didn’t have to celebrate it every year.

Lily’s unusual birth date at the end of February means she shares a birthday month with mother Sarah, who was 27 on February 1.

“It’ll be fun every four years to have a true birthday, but, it’s just something unique that I never thought about till now.”, says John.
