Meet Star-Lord’s dad in new ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ trailer
Courtest of Jimmy Kimmel Live, here’s a new trailer of one of the summer’s most antcipated movies: Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2!
We were teased earlier this week about the release of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’s second theatrical trailer, and we now have it for you in its entirety.
The 65-year-old sci-fi hero – best-known for The Thing and Escape From New York – is glimpsed right at the end of the high-octane new promo, soundtracked by Fleetwood Mac’s The Chain. Director James Gunn chose to use a “more diverse” range of classic rock and pop music for Vol. 2, with two tracks already confirmed: “Come A Little Bit Closer” by Jay and the Americans, and “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac. For example, Star-Lord, Rocket, Groot, Drax, and Gamora all have a huge presence in the trailer.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is scheduled for release on May 5th, 2017.
The short video of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” featured the gang, campfire and deep woods. The trailer puts focus on the guardians as a family, Ayesha, and Seed as the main villains, and introduces Kurt Russell as Ego aka Peter Quill’s father.
The Guardians are also set to join their Marvel super-friends in “Avengers: Infinity War”, which will release in the summer of 2018, nearly exactly one-year after Guardians of the Galaxy 2 hits theaters. In typical fashion, they’re flying by the seats of their trousers – but if we know them, they’ll manage to get it together just in time to save the MCU from completely imploding.
The synopsis also hinted that more characters from the classic comics will arrive to help the Guardians and MCU will continue to expand.
