Meet the characters of spin-off series Fear The Walking Dead
Fear of the Walking Dead is set in Los Angeles, California and will follow the story of how a divorced male teacher, a female guidance counselor, and her two kids deal with the opening stages of the zombie apocalypse. “But we’ve never really had the opportunity to craft a vision together the way we have with Fear The Walking Dead”. That means we get to witness the seriously bad stuff which went down while Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) was in his coma.
Kirkman doesn’t reveal much about the show, other than the freedom in creating something not based on a comic book and his admiration for just how great “FTWD” is.
Given the success of the original series, it is probably pretty fair to assume that there are some at AMC who are interested in figuring out whether or not this has anywhere near the same sort of staying power.
Fear the Walking Dead also stars Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Elizabeth Rodriguez as Liza, Ruben Blades as Daniel, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia and Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris.
Fans of AMC’s wildly popular zombie series “The Walking Dead” have been counting down the days until the spin-off’s big premiere this summer. “Our characters will be up to speed, and they will know that the world has changed and the apocalypse has come, but there’s still going to be a lot of real estate to explore”.
Do you think Fear the Walking Dead has the capability to be every bit as popular as The Walking Dead? “I remember, there’s a line from Deadwood actually that David Milch had written, and I can’t quote it exactly, but it was something about how each day takes learning all over how to be”, Fear the Walking Dead’s Dickens said.
AMC released the first three minutes of the new show on Facebook for fans to check out.
Dickens insists that no, she’s “not particularly drawn” to shows with a high danger level – though she admits that “on this one, you’d have to think no one’s safe”.
The first season consists of six episodes and premieres this Sunday on AMC.
