Meet the Griswolds in new red band trailer for Vacation
Following in his father’s footsteps and hoping for some much-needed family bonding, a grown-up Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms) surprises his wife, Debbie (Christina Applegate), and their two sons with a cross-country trip back to America’s “favorite family fun park”, Walley World.
Summer may nearly be over, but the latest road trip with the Griswold family in Vacation doesn’t begin until next week.
Added Helms: “He uses some sort of high tech moisturizer because his skin is like flawless”.
Yet he entire filming process of “Vacation” – even that dive – was a big treat for the actor best known for “The Hangover” and “The Office”.
While this new movie focuses on the Griswold kids as adults – specifically Rusty – it does feature cameos by the family’s patriarch and matriarch, Clark and Ellen, played by Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo.
As the red band card suggests, this is a very NSFW trailer, so if you really want to see it, put some headphones on, or just wait until you get home.
Helms winced – but then laughed – when I mentioned the “Thor” star “went to great lengths” to bring his comedic chops to the role.
“That scene with the underwear sight gag, I think people look at that and kind of quickly assume, “Oh it’s amusing because of the underwear sight gag.’ But it’s not, that’s not why it’s amusing”.
“‘This is the first time we can say that we are writing it”, Daley said during an interview with NPR as reported by Heroic Hollywood.
