Mega Man Legends Taking Its Place On The PlayStation Store
While Capcom seems pretty much finished with the Mega Man series, having cancelled development of Mega Man Legends 3 a few years ago, co-creator Keiji Inafune and Comcept are working on their own spiritual successor to the Legends series. Capcom has announced Mega Man Legends, the 1998 action RPG starring Mega Man Volnutt, will be released on September 29. It quickly became a cult classic but wasn’t all that popular with Capcom, who unceremoniously canned a planned sequel for it back in 2011, effectively killing the franchise. It will cost $9.99.
With the presence of PSOne classics on the PlayStation Store and the sky high price of the game on the secondary market, gamers have been begging for the release of Mega Man Legends and those prayers have finally been answered.
Capcom’s Greg Moore, aka “Gregaman”, shared the news in a post to his blog on the Capcom Unity site. It is not clear whether the game will be made available in other regions.
If you grew up in the 90s with a PlayStation, there’s a decent chance you’ve played, seen or at least heard about Mega Man Legends.
