Megyn Kelly Compared Donald Trump To Voldemort After GOP Debate
CNN’s debate in December had 18 million.
Cruz’s new spot comes two days before Iowa’s first-in-the-nation voting caucuses.
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, who has been a frequent target of Trump’s attacks, said he “kind of missed Donald Trump”, adding: “He was such a teddy bear to me”. He is “getting most of what we would call mainstream Republican support”, pollster Ann Selzer told reporters at an event unveiling the results, which is “really against the grain of the Iowa caucuses”.
“Ted Cruz is an anchor baby in Canada”, he said. “That’s easy, right? But that doesn’t mean Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio is ready to be president of the United States”.
Thursday night’s broadcast attracted 12.5 million total viewers, making it the second-highest-rated telecast in the network’s history, Fox said.
Asked if he’ll show for the next GOP presidential debate in New Hampshire, Trump said, “I think I will be there”. Ted Cruz was about “the elephant not in the room” and what Trump was saying to Iowa by not attending the debate like the good boys all had.
At this past Thursday’s GOP debate on Fox News, which Trump sat out, Cruz fought to make sure he was positioned at center stage – but did little to take advantage of the opportunity.
Fox News said on Tuesday the war of words escalated behind the scenes over the weekend, and accused Trump’s campaign manager of “terrorizations” against Kelly. The real estate mogul held a competing event across town where he raised $6 million for U.S. military veterans.
Analysts and pundits, however, say that the often-contentious Texas senator came off as defensive on issues like immigration and ethanol subsidies and that his squabbles with Fox News hosts Chris Wallace, Bret Baier and Megyn Kelly, worked to his disadvantage.
Trump dominated social media during the debate, leading the entire Republican pack in Twitter mentions throughout the first half of the debate, according to data from social media analytics firm Zoomph.
“I will gladly confess I am the only one on this stage with no political title”, said Dr. Ben Carson, (R) presidential candidate.
Trump was also the big victor online.
