Mehbooba for talks with stakeholders

A day after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti floated a three-pronged dialogue strategy to deal with the ongoing crisis in the state, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined a resolution within the ambit of ekta (unity) and mamata (love). Instead of sacrificing the innocent poor, she said, the separatists should come forward and help in saving lives of the innocent youth.

She said Modi has the mandate to take bold decisions on the lines of Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the resolution of the problems in and around Jammu and Kashmir. “These two things were the basic mantra”.

“If the Prime Minister believes that only 5 percent of people are creating trouble in Kashmir Valley, then it begs a question as to why the state government and all the resources at the command of the Central government, including the paramilitary forces are not able to get a handle on the situation”.

Mehbooba was on a whirlwind visit to Delhi for a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the situation in Kashmir where at least 71 people have been killed since the July 8 killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.

“This country is very big, full of diversities”.

“We will remind the United Nations its long-held promise of self-determination to the Kashmiri people”, Sharif said.

“Although our medals tally is just two, but many Indian sportsmen have performed quite well.but we have to do more”.

Singh also met Mehbooba Mufti, Governor N N Vohra and state cabinet ministers. Do we want them to do something which is going to have retaliation and injuries? He said states can also send their suggestions to the Centre in this regard. Some senior government functionaries and businessmen are also part of the group against whom the military leadership wants strict action to make the national action plan a real success story.

“We should do all preparations and I am confident that the country of 125 crore people, 65 per cent of them youth, will move ahead with this resolve”, he said. The government of India had given the separatists a chance when Rajnath had invited them, but the separatists, who openly endorse Pakistan, can’t be expected to be a part of something constructive.

“Violence has changed nothing in the political scene of Jammu and Kashmir over the years and, in fact, has only brought mayhem, miseries, economic disaster, academic breakdown and social disorder to the state”.

“Following improvement in the situation, there will be no restrictions in Kashmir valley from tomorrow except Pulwama town and the areas falling under the jurisdictions of police stations MR Gunj and Nowhatta”, a spokesperson from the police had said on Sunday.
