Meizu M2 smartphone launches in China for $100
Meizu is widely expected to unveil a new smartphone on July 29, though it has not yet announced the name of or details about the handset. The M2 Note is this company’s mid-range offering, a solid smartphone which doesn’t cost all that much.
According to a recent report by Android Headlines, a new rumor suggests the new MX5 Pro handset will make its way out in the market possibly in September of this year. TMall has listed the price of the Meizu M2 as just $95, which is actually a great deal, given the handset’s specifications and is certainly capable of giving a big bang for the buck.
Meizu is one of the growing stars in the phone industry: a brand from China, it has quickly expanded its presence throughout most of Europe, and while it has not conquered the United States yet, you can still buy its phones via multiple third party resellers (for a slight premium over their official asking price). The Meizu M2 is essentially a smaller variant of the M2 Note which launched recently. It is clocked at 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 64-bit processor with Mali-T720 GPU besides 2GB RAM under the hood. The phone features a dual SIM configuration and the second SIM card slot can be interchangeably used as a microSD card slot. The phone features Android 5.1 OS with Meizu’s Flyme UI 4.5 skin atop it.
The Meizu M2 sports a 13MP rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, and full HD (1080p) video recording capabilities, along with a 5MP front camera for selfies. The 13-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) is available on the back of the M2, while you’ll be able to find a 5-megapixel snapper on its front side. This entry level phone is priced at Chinese Yuan 599 (approx Rs 6,200) and will come in colours such as blue, pink, grey and white. Stay tuned for additional info.
