Melissa McCarthy’s is back and super mad as Sean Spicer on ‘SNL’
Most of the show’s content is also made available on SNL’s YouTube account early Sunday morning and on the show’s official website. Here’s what you missed and including clips from our favorites.
Seemingly having taken the actual Spicer’s advice to “dial back” to heart, actor Melissa McCarthy returned with “new Spicy” only one week after debuting her character.
“I’m going to have to use my dollies”, McCarthy shouted before pulling out a Barbie and explaining she was “OK because she’s blonde”. In addition, Spicer swapped out last week’s super soaker with a leaf blower just in case any reporters asked questions he didn’t like.
Ah, this wasn’t going to last, was it? Of course, By “field”, I mean “harass people with a leafblower and a remote control mobile podium”.
But Baldwin and McCarthy weren’t the only ones skewering political figures, the ultra-versatile McKinnon was showing off her chops in various sketches. The rumor led Twitter users to start campaigning for Rosie O’Donnell to play Steve Bannon, and while the actress briefly led everyone to believe she would, reports that she would show up on SNL were eventually denied. In a sketch, McKinnon’s Conway is a psychotic stalker, showing up in the home of CNN anchor Jake Tapper (Beck Bennett), clad in lingerie and threatening him with a knife in order to be back on TV again. Ideal writing and performance throughout.
SNL also went after Kellyanne Conway with a parody of Fatal Attraction, with Kate McKinnon’s Conway playing the Glenn Close role. Yout get the idea.
Cecily Strong played “The People’s Court” jurist who ultimately scolded Trump to slow down.
You may love Baldwin’s performance as the President of the United States, but chances are you don’t love it as much as Leslie Jones does. In fact, I’m sure if the two of them met, they’d be dating – or at least hook up once before getting in a fight over brunch the next day.
Mr. Baldwin introduced the show with his opening dialogue accompanied by “SNL” star Pete Davison, the latter of whom cycled between commending and roasting the former “30 Rock” star. In another, he was an obstetrician examining Beyonce, pregnant with twins (played by a chatty Kenan Thompson and surprise guest Tracy Morgan). The truth is it was a throwaway sketch, but an appearance from Morgan is welcome regardless of the circumstances, and the whole sketch was worthwhile just to hear fetus Morgan say he’s going to be the first person ever to get somebody pregnant while inside somebody pregnant.
