Memphis Depay comes out fighting with message for his Manchester United critics
He managed to score 22 goals in 30 league matches for PSV last term, but has so far only registered one goal from his previous eight Premier League appearances.
But Depay, 21, is ignoring the haters and blocking out the less encouraging comments.
Memphis Depay admits he’s still adapting to the physical demands of the Premier League – but is confident of long-term success at Manchester United.
Despite looking promising at stages, Depay has largely struggled to find form since making the move to England and, in a reasonably frank interview, the Dutch wonder kid had the following to say about his difficulties.
“I’m not really paying attention to it”.
Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that the Reds spoke with Memphis Depay before he moved to Manchester United in the summer.
“Only constructive criticism can do something for you”.
“There are very few days where I can rest – on training days you are mainly concerned with recovering. Everyone will have an opinion, but that is part of life”.
“Everyone has confidence that Turkey will drop points and we can win the two games”, he added. I think this was the right step, and I’m happy in Manchester.
“I try in my career to take as many steps as I can”. It is not easy to play two games per week. I am right in the middle of my development.
