Memphis Depay: Wayne Rooney is a great player to learn from
The former England worldwide feels that there was nothing fantastic about the performance since winning games at home against teams like Newcastle United is something normal which is not happening at the moment.
Manchester United defender Daley Blind believes that his countryman Memphis Depay has settled into his new surroundings well and has started showing his talent. It was a match in which they had 20 attempts on goal out of which 8 were on target but due to Tim Krul’s heroic goalkeeping and some pretty wasteful finishing they could not convert any of those chances thus justifying Memphis’ words.
The 21-year-old is yet to score in the Premier League for Manchester United but the Red Devils have only netted twice themselves and one of those went down an own-goal. It was frustrating.
While responding to a question answer session with his club’s official website Blind said: “He’s settled in very well. “.
Regardless of Rooney’s mixed form so far this season, he’s in the ideal place to give Memphis advice having arrived at the club with huge expectations on his shoulders at a young age.
“We started great and sharp and we created some chances but didn’t finish them off. In the second half we also created some more chances but again we didn’t finish it so that was the frustration”.
Memphis Depay has looked sterling in one Champions League contest, against Club Brugge last week when he fired in a double and assisted on a third, but has yet to strike in the Premier League.
“He has a lot of experience”.
