Memphis Nabs Nonstop Flight to New Orleans
Memphis worldwide Airport will soon allow another airline to fly in and out of the terminal.
The announcement marks the 11th new addition to Memphis worldwide Airport in 2015.
A New Orleans startup airline focused on regional connections in the South will launch daily flights to Memphis, Little Rock and Shreveport in November from Louis Armstrong worldwide Airport, officials said Tuesday (Sept. 29).
It’s called GLO. The New Orleans-owned and based startup will offer non-stop air service to multiple Gulf and Mid-South destinations.
On Saturday, the Memphis-bound flight leaves Louis Armstrong worldwide at 7:55 a.m. and heads back to the Big Easy at 10 a.m. On Sunday, the route departs New Orleans at 2:15 p.m. and departs Memphis at 4:25 p.m.
The aircraft the company will be flying is a 30-passenger Saab 340B, with plenty of leg room between the seats.
The flights, operated by Corporate Flight Management Inc., will connect to Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, Memphis worldwide Airport and Shreveport Regional Airport. “We’re just more than happy to work with GLO Airlines to bring about this non-stop air service to our region”.
The company’s founder and CEO, Trey Fayard, said Glo will create about 30 direct jobs, including pilots, flight attendants and customer service representatives, and 110 indirect jobs.
