Memphis Tigers out of AP, Coaches polls
Clemson moved past Ohio State as the new No. 1 while Alabama advanced to No. 3 after Baylor’s loss.
But LSU has struggled with Arkansas in the past anyway, and yet another setback vs. the Razorbacks continued the Tigers’ slide down the poll. The Tigers have 34 first-place votes.
Coming into week 11 of the college football season, FSU was ranked #18 in the coaches poll. Oklahoma State rallied from 17 points down to win 35-31 at Iowa State on Saturday.
A loss to Alabama pushed Mississippi State out of the AP poll, but the Bulldogs are still hanging on to a ranking in the Coaches poll, tied with the rival Rebels at No. 25. The No. 7 Oklahoma Sooners jumped into the Top 10 after ousting the Bears in Waco.
– Oklahoma State has its best ranking since 2011, when the Cowboys reached No. 2 and finished No. 3.
Clemson is now the nation’s top football team in the three major rankings.
No. 22 Southern California at No. 23 Oregon.
Ohio State also remained 10-0 after defeating IL, 28-3 on the road. Another dominant victory, this time at the expense of Miami (Fla.) now has them at No. 12, up five places from last week. Right now it looks like the PAC is the most likely to be left out of the College Football Playoff.
