Men In Black 4: With Woman In Black
The previous “Men in Black” movies featured Will Smith as Agent J and Tommy Lee Jones as Agent K. In the third sequel, Josh Brolin played the younger version of Agent K. There were reports coming out that the “Focus” star won’t be returning in “Men in Black 4”, but the producer slammed all rumors.
Star of the franchise Will Smith is still not attached with the fourth film, but Parkes says that the actor could be lured back.
“There will be a prominent woman in black in the fourth [film]”, producer Laurie MacDonald said on BBC. However, the series was also presumably supposed to be over after Men in Black 3, and after it appeared Will Smith wasn’t interested in keeping it going.
“Men in Black 4” may have a female lead sporting the MIB’s signature style, reported Aceshowbiz.
The first film was released in 1997 and was about two agents who keep aliens living on Earth from causing trouble.
“Never count Will out”, Parkes said. “It was a bold approach we were trying at Sony before Tom [Rothman] came, and we weren’t sure what his appetite would be for making a movie like that, but he got it right away”. While it has been three since it’s last film release, the franchise as a whole still has a cult following that remains passionate up to the present day. As such, even if they stick to their plans for more gender diversity in the Men in Black, there’s a long way to go before they can cast someone to break the neuralyzer ceiling. The character, which is under development, will be prominent to the story of the film. “It sounds silly because it’s a fun, science fiction comedy but when you work on these things, you try to find some thematic basis underneath it”.
