Aside from the its distinctive design, what sets the AMG GT apart from the SLS AMG is its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which is in contrast to the 6.2-liter V8 engine of the SLS AMG. This will be the fifth AMG to have been launched in the country in 2015. The AMG GT S is manufactured in accordance to the brand’s motto of “Handcrafted by Racers” – which perfectly encapsulates our strong heritage and spirit of performance motoring. This fire-breathing monster is based on an aluminium made space frame with independent double-wishbone suspension all round. It also gets adjustable damping as a standard feature.
Inside the cabin, the AMG GT gets silver chrome, carbon fibre, black diamond, matte carbon fibre and matt silver fibreglass. It will draw inspiration from GT3 race auto and feature an aggressive front fascia, revised side skirts, a prominent rear wing, and a massive diffuser. It features free-standing central display and the AMG Drive Unit Controls, latest touchpad for commands to operate and navigate the vehicle easily.
Under the hood the new Mercedes-AMG GT S packs 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that is capable of producing 510PS of power at 6250rpm along with a peak torque of 650Nm between 1750 to 4750rpm.
All this power is mated to an AMG-tuned Speedshift seven-speed dual clutch unit that sends the power to the rear wheels. Carbon ceramic brakes are offered as an option.
