Mercedes-AMG S 63 Cabriolet “Edition 130” revealed
The latest Mercedes to launch in India is the GLE 450 AMG Coupe, priced at Rs. 86.4 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai). The company also plans to launch 10 new outlets in the country by the end of the year.
It can sprint from 0 to 62 miles per hour (0-100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed electronically limitted at 250 km/h (155 mph).
The luxury cabriolet’s transmission will feature three individual driving modes and the AMG Speedshift plus 7G-tronic transmission makes sure power is transmitted to the rear axle. The GLE also comes with 4Matic all-wheel-drive system that comes with AMG-specific transfer case with a permanent 40:60 front/rear torque split, for improved handling dynamics. The GLE 450 AMG Coupe also comes with 21-inch AMG twin 5-spoke alloy wheels and horizontal taillamps that features a fibre-optic dual “torch” design and LED turn signals and brake lamps. There are three ambient light options available with five step dimming options to suit your preferences. Mercedes-AMG honors this achievement of the founding fathers with this highly exclusive cabriolet, and demonstrates the developments the automobile has undergone in the last 130 years, developments that would have been inconceivable at that time.
The new model is a Coupe derivative of the recently launched GLE (facelifted ML Class), which was launched past year in India. It offers 6 airbags – adaptive airbags and sidebags for driver and front passenger, windowbags between A, B and C-pillars. “At Mercedes-Benz, it is our constant endeavour to bring the best products for our discerning Indian customers”, said.
One Look at the GLE 450 AMG and one would know what exactly this particular model is doing in India, which is to compete with the BMW X6. The new auto will at the moment come with the CBU kit and will fulfill the need for an SUV coupe in the market.
