Mercedes-Benz E-Class revealed in leaked images
Scheduled to be unveiled at the Detroit auto show next week, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will come in “sport” and “luxury” versions, fully redesigned for 2017.
As reported earlier, the fifth generation E Class (codenamed W213) neatly integrates design elements from the new C Class and S Class models and is a radical step up from its predecessor.
The E-class rides on a newly developed four-link (front) and five-link (rear) suspension featuring variable rate damping. This is not your standard model release either, the new E-Class will usher in an all new era in digitalisation – with high-resolution visualisations and animations, touch-sensitive control and also smartphone integration with capacitive aerial coupling and wireless charging. A set of LED headlights with 84 LEDs that are individually controlled. A nine-speed transmission is expected to be used on most models.

While seeing a Auto for the first time through a pencil sketch is definitely not the suggested way, this is a good way to preview things the designers had in mind before we get to see the vehicle in all metal.
The cabin of of the new E-Class is also a smaller replica of the S-Class with premium materials and trims, and two large 12.3 inch displays. It also looks like there will be an E400 petrol option at launch too.
Further afield, the E 200’s new petrol four will form the basis of a new range of BMW-style 3.0-litre inline-six engines for future Mercedes-Benz models – including petrol (M256) and diesel (OM656).
Later this year, a new E63 will crown the new E-Class line-up.
