Mercedes jumps from Mario Kart to Super Mario Maker
Mario fans at the German automaker have tried their hand at making a course for the Mario-themed level editor dubbed the “Mercedes-Benz Jump’n’Drive”, and it’s available free through the Event Courses menu.
Following last year’s promotional tie-in for Mario Kart 8, Nintendo and Mercedes-Benz renew their collaboration through Super Mario Maker. Still, at least that was a game that already involved the driving of cars.
Following up their partnership with Mercedes-Benz for Mario Kart 8 cars and commercials, Nintendo has announced that there will be a new Mercedes GLA “costume” for Super Mario Maker. Players can permanetly unlock the costume by beating the level, and add it to their collection of Mystery Mushroom costumes.
“‘Super Mario Maker’ continues to grow and evolve with new courses and content”, said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. Of course, there are plenty of surprises waiting to be discovered.
The Super Mario Maker game lets players create, play and share their own Mario courses using a wide array of enemies, objects and power-ups.
This isn’t the first time Nintendo and Mercedes-Benz have teamed up. The level and the costume are free.
Mercedes-Benz invited Mario fans into its headquarters to design the level.
