Mercedes launches the AMG S63 Sedan for Rs 2.53 Crores

This new one has a 80mm extra wheelbase, is 95mm longer overall and 40mm wider than its predecessor, meaning it has more interior space as well. This update gives it a more athletic appearance despite the coupe being 3.7 inches longer.

Pricing, fuel-economy ratings, and other vital stats will be made available closer to the coupe’s launch. Ride height is also lower for the coupe, which sits on standard 18-inch wheels. For now, check out the spy shots of the fast four door at this link.

The coupe also gets its share of gadgets, including available self-leveling air suspension, a 360-degree camera system, and air conditioning that’s linked to the navigation system.

As previously reported, the C300 coupe features the same engine as the base sedan.

The G63 AMG version will start at $140,825 and features a 5.5L twin turbo V8 making 563hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.

Given the more sports-focussed positioning of the new C-Class coupe, Australia may not receive the C180 version initially. All the controls have been redesigned; the use of a new COMAND knob and touchpad means the center console is no longer littered with a hodgepodge of buttons. Standard Attention Assist monitors the driver for signs of fatigue, Collision Prevention Assist warns of an impending crash, and Adaptive Brake Assist can provide autonomous braking in certain situations, at speeds up to 124 miles per hour. It enables the new C-Class coupe to autonomously steer to remain in its lane at speeds between 0 and 200km/h.

Cabin tech gets upgraded over the previous C-class coupe to Mercedes-Benz’s latest infotainment system, combining its traditional jog dial with a touchpad capable of alphanumeric and gesture input. Like the sedan, the C Coupe will be offered with a sportier trim option with AMG wheels and exterior styling changes, which will no doubt prime those who can’t wait for an AMG C63 Coupe that’s sure to closely follow.

The automaker expects U.S. sales to mostly come from coastal and southern states.
