Meri Brown Of ‘Sister Wives’: I Was Catfished!
In “Sister Wives” Season 6, Episode 8, “More Girls Than Kody Can Handle”, Kody Brown plans a bonding trip to the beach with his five youngest daughters after confessing that he has better relationships with his sons.
Little did she know that while she was being disloyal to her partner, she was also betrayed by one of her own “sister wives!” Brown has admitted to the affair and stated she never met the person, who turned out to be a woman posing as a man, according to People magazine.
Following the divorce, Meri appeared to seek out the online romance with a man allegedly named Samuel Cooper-whose identity has since been revealed as that of Jackie Overton, though accounts and online forms run by Cooper still maintain he is a man. Meri even legally divorced Kody so he could marry Robyn, a selfless move to make sure that Robyn’s children from another marriage had access to Kody’s insurance and benefits.
After admitting to her emotional online affair, Meri confirmed that her polygamist family is aware of what she’s been going through and have been there for her throughout this hard time.
By her own admission, she was unhappy.
“During an emotional and vulnerable time earlier this year, I began speaking with someone online who turned out to be not who they said they were”, Meri, 44, tells People. This term was coined by Nev Schulman in his 2010 documentary “Catfish” and later popularized by MTV’s reality-show spinoff. You can see her statement word for word below, at the end of the article.
“Being with you is very special to me”. We’ve had great conversations; I’m just having fun with it! “As soon as you touch down have a few time, shoot me a text and let me know if you’re all safe and everything is all great, and I cant wait to talk to you again”. However, a new report from In Touch seems to hint that Robyn actually has a connection to the scandal as a whole.
