Meryl Streep got a ‘totally undeserved’ standing ovation at the Oscars

“Matt, as you probably know, could have stared in ‘Manchester by the Sea’, he was the producer and it is nominated for six Oscars including lead actor and he could have taken that lead actor part for himself, but he didn’t”. Instead, she got a standing ovation.
The talk show host said he knew the country was divided and he had been encouraged to say something that would unite people.
The award show, which began with a phenomenal performance by Justin Timberlake on the song from “Trolls”, saw the United States president becoming a victim of trolls in a rare case.
Viola Davis won her first Oscar for her supporting role as a long-suffering housewife in the African-American family drama Fences. Note to self: Don’t get on Kimmel’s bad side, because he will effortlessly ream you out, along with a healthy dose of humor, so it doesn’t sting too badly.
