“Meticulous planning” ahead of Las Vegas shooting
The president’s motorcade passed close to the Mandalay Bay Hotel where Paddock, 64, fired from the 32nd floor, killing 59 people and injuring more than 500 at a country music festival on Sunday night. One gun shop owner in Utah stepped forward to say he sold Paddock a rifle earlier this year.
While investigators sought to unravel the mystery of what caused Paddock to kill 58 people and wound almost 500 others, President Donald Trump was in Las Vegas, trying to console victims and meeting with police and first responders.
Ms Danley said she was “devastated by the deaths and injuries that have occurred” and said she prayed for the victims and their families.
Assistant Sheriff Todd Fasula said police found 19 firearms at Paddock’s home in Mesquite, Nevada.
She’s identified as Nevada resident Marilou Danley.
Authorities in the US, Philippines and Australia have been involved in the search for Danley, in the hope she might be able to shed some light on the motive behind the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.
“He was shot, but I can not tell you it was the police that shot him”. He likely had a large suite or more than one room. Paddock killed himself before police reached his hotel room.
Richard Vasquez, a former chief of firearms technology for the ATF, said “without a doubt it was automatic fire”, but it’s hard to determine any more specifics about the weapons used because the videos are shot from so far away and there are lots of gunshot echoes.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday afternoon, sheriff Joseph Lombardo said “he had to have some help”.
Guns & Guitars, Inc., sells semi-automatic weapons but not fully automatic weapons. He reportedly met Danley several years ago while she was working at a casino in Reno, Nev.
She was out of the country the night the shooting happened.
Law enforcement sources tell ABC News that Paddock had wired tens of thousands of dollars to someone in the Philippines over the past few months.
Two cameras were located in the hallway to allow the attacker watch as authorities approached the room, while another camera placed inside the room door’s peephole provided a view of the hallway.
