Mets fan cries during call to Mike Francesa (Audio)
The two have been talking concerning the ramifications of a controversial play that befell within the L.A. Dodgers 5 to 2 win over the New York Mets on Saturday night time.
Will from Queens called into Mike Francesa’s WFAN show Sunday morning, and he was so overcome with emotion over the slide that he began to sob.
Francesa at the 4:26 mark: “Don’t cry again, Will!”
Will, a school teacher from Forest Hills, has never attended an Major League Baseball playoff game, and has stated that he can’t even watch the Mets games on television as he doesn’t have cable.
It’s a class move by Francesa, who plans to sit with his guest. Will from Queens planned to wear his Matt Harvey jersey.
“Say, ‘let’s go Mets, ‘” Francesa responded. The slide broke Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada’s leg, ending his season.
Mike Francesa just made Will from Queens’ day.
As for the kind gesture by Francesa on Monday, the long-time New York sports radio host was praised by those on social media.
