Mets slugger Cespedes put on DL with quadriceps injury

Now, before you start yelling and screaming about A-Rod’s issues, playoff failures and year-long suspension due to performance-enhancing drugs, let’s not forget the truth: Rodriguez has been nothing short of great in a Yankee uniform for a very long time.

Green was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre on Thursday, and right-hander Johnny Barbato was recalled from the RailRiders.

With Brandon Nimmo promoted to replace Cespedes, the Mets now have five lefty-hitting outfielders, which Alderson acknowledged is not ideal.
