Mexican president: drug lord Chapo Guzman re-arrested
They say five people were killed in the battle including one Mexican marine.
The arrest of Guzmán was followed by a raid at a home in the town of Los Mochis before dawn by Mexican marines, the AP is reporting.
Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto tweeted the news earlier today “mission accomplished: we have him”.
The area has been the site of other military operations in recent months as the government continues to search for Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, leader of the Sinaloa cartel.
Two of the rifles seized were.50-caliber sniper guns, capable of penetrating most bullet-proof vests and cars. And an assault rifle had a. 40 mm grenade launcher, and at least one grenade.
1995: Guzman is convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison. The first was from a maximum-security prison in 2001 when he reportedly hid in a laundry cart.

Mexican Federal Police spokesman Jose Ramon Salinas confirmed Guzman’s capture to CNN.
