MI football gets verbal commitment from another top-ranked recruit
Dylan McCaffrey is one of the top quarterback recruits in the country and boosts Michigan’s already impressive recruiting class. His older brother broke Barry Sanders’ NCAA record for all-purpose yardage in a single season last season (3,864), and was a Heisman Trophy finalist along with Clemson QB Deshaun Watson and Alabama RB Derrick Henry, who won the award.
McCaffrey, who attends Valor Christian High School in Highland Ranch, Colo., is one of the top-rated quarterbacks in the high school class of 2017. “[Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh] is a great guy”.
The number 25 prospect in the 2017 class, quarterback Dylan McCaffrey, has officially committed to MI, according to ESPN.
The Harbaugh effect helped MI land Brandon Peters, the sixth ranked pro-style quarterback prospect for 2016 according to the 247sports composite rankings, and has already struck again with a top quarterback prospect for 2017. Max McCaffrey is a 2016 NFL Draft hopeful after spending four years as a Duke wide receiver.
McCaffrey is the fifth commitment in Michigan’s 2017 class – after the Wolverines lost wide receiver JJ Holloman last week. The youngest McCaffrey brother, Luke, is also a high school quarterback.
McCaffrey made his early intentions known via a Twitter post.
