Miami Beach police shoot, kill suspected bank robber as witness records

The FBI and Miami Beach police will investigate the attempted bank robbery.

The victim’s injuries are non-life threatening, police said.

Clerks at the bank’s Alton Road location triggered a silent alarm after a suspect passed a note to a teller that said he was armed with a bomb.

From there the suspect, fled the bank bare hand when he ran into a nearby barbershop, where he grabbed a straightedge razor and ran into the street, where he was surrounded by officers.

While she was being patted down by the officer, she said, ‘I had to kill her and two more.

A bystander posted footage of the incident to Instagram, which shows officers surrounding the man before he’s shot and falls to the ground.

Security has stepped up at the event in the wake of the Paris attacks, because of which on site security personnel were able to arrive at the scene immediately and arrest the suspect, identified as 24-year-old NY resident Siyuan Zhao. The shooting, under department policy, will be investigated by the Miami-Dade Police Department, he said.

This one occurred Saturday morning when a Miami Beach, Florida, officer killed a man during a confrontation on a busy street.

“I know that there are videos out there in the media, if you slow those videos down carefully you will see that the weapon is raised at the moment at which the shot takes place”, Chief Oates said.

In a statement about the incident, Art Basel’s spokeswoman Sara Fitzmaurice wrote: “The attack was an isolated incident that was immediately secured”. She said she did not see a Taser go off. Oates said the officer who fired the shots is also Hispanic. I just want my coffee with 3 creams and 3 sugars.

“He came outside and was basically yelling gestures out to the police officers”, he said.

“He did have a knife in his hand and he was going towards the police”, she said. “I had to watch her bleed!” as she was patted down by police officers.
