Michael B. Jordan: ‘Black Panther shows black kids they can be superheroes’

With less humor but no less family drama than the recent Marvel-movie predecessors “Thor: Ragnarok” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”, this first film starring comics’ first black superhero is as political as it is fanciful.

Set shortly after Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther will see T’Challa returning home to the isolated, technologically-advanced African nation of Wakanda to become king.

The black-market arms dealer Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis) is in Busan to sell a stolen piece of precious Wakandan vibranium to an American, and the heroic trio is on the case.
