Michael B. Jordan to play Black Panther villain
Black Panther is set for a July 6, 2018 release.
These outstanding ladies will develop the characters of Ayo and Aneka, a couple being a part of the Black Panther’s female security force. Now, they’re about to get the opportunity to delve even deeper into the culture and stories of T’Challa’s kingdom in the newly announced ongoing series Black Panther: World of Wakanda! From a young age, she was trained to be a Dora Milaje-deadly bodyguards and future wives for the king.
“Black Panther” is now a best-selling series written by Ta-Nehisi Coates, a senior editor and national correspondent at “The Atlantic”, who frequently writes non-fiction about African American issues.
During Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con 2016 panel, it was confirmed that Black Panther will begin filming in January. In the comics, she is one of the Dora Milaje or the Adored Ones with her friend Okoye who will be played by Danai Guirra.
Black Panther made his Marvel cinematic universe debut in this past May’s Captain America: Civil War.
But Coogler mentions that there is much more to the nation of Wakanda than just their highly coveted vibranium.
However, this wasn’t the end for her. Killmonger, (played by Michael B. Jordan), restores her health through. well, comic book magic and gives her enhanced strength and reflexes and Nakia adopts the name of Malice. In the comics, her character falls in love with Black Panther. It will follow the adventures of two of the titular African monarch’s former soldiers, Ayo and Aneka, who happen to be queer women. Nyong’o will take on the role of Nakia, and Danai Gurira (best known as Michonne in The Walking Dead) will play Okoye.
In addition to the many announcements, Marvel also revealed the film’s logo.
Another Black woman of Wakanda, Zenzi, traces back to the first issue of Black Panther when she started a riot against the T’Challa.
