Michael Bay Claims Transformers 5 Will Be His ‘Last One’
Despite previously casting doubt of his involvement, Michael Bay just confirmed that he’s directing Tranformers 5 for the summer 2017 release.
“I’d say about half; half a B”.
Insiders had expected that Bay would return to the franchise but the director has only now committed with his new movie nearly out the door. “I’ve taken on a lot of work”. “One more”, said Bay. Michael Bay will aim to make it the third straight Transformers film to gross over $1bn at the global box office.
The director is already in pre-production for his fifth Transformers movie, according to a profile in Rolling Stone magazine.
The first time you read that, as a fan of TMNT, it might rub you up the wrong way. “It s fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see”. I’ll probably do a very large wildlife-protection fund – something with Africa and big game”, he said, adding that’ll donate “All of it. Not yet. He also mentions how this is definitely going to be his last one, even though he’s said that at least twice before. “I have to pass the reins to someone else”.
Stephen Davis, the Hasbro Studios President, told a Cannes audience in October that the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth Transformers films are being worked on, as well as a TV series.
