Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: the first trailer
It is not surprising that Paramount/Viacom Inc. would choose the opening weekend of Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation to unveil the first trailer for their early 2016 release 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.
13 Hours tells the story of the terrorist attack on an American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya in 2012, and the members of a security team who were tasked with defending the compound and those inside.
The first half of the trailer conveys a strong sense of menace while the second offers a montage of desperate action sequences. Chuck Hogan wrote the adaptation for the film, which is based on the popular book by Mitchell Zuckoff.
“When everything went wrong, six men had the courage to do what was right”.
Michael Bay is stepping away from robots in disguise to a much more serious topic: the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, that left four people dead, including the U.S. ambassador, and caused a lot of grief for then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. He will be producing the film as well, along with Erwin Stoff.
13 Hours – which stars John Krasinski, James Badge Dale, Max Martini, Toby Stephens, and Pablo Schreiber – is due in theaters January 15, 2016.
