Michael Cera to Play Robin in the ‘LEGO Batman’ Movie
Arnett and Cera previously worked together on Arrested Development, which makes me wonder if they could just populate the entire Lego Batman cast with AD alums. Jonah Hill voiced Green Lantern for his brief cameo in The LEGO Movie, and it’s always possible that he’ll return for this spinoff. The Arrested Development stars, who play nephew and uncle on that series, will voice the Dynamic Duo in the upcoming animated film, which reunites many members of the Lego Movie team.
“In related Cera news, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that he’s nabbed the film rights to True Grit writer Charles Portis” 1985 novel Masters Of Atlantis. The LEGO brand’s holy tetrad, Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, will produce.
Batman was one of the breakout characters of The Lego Movie. “He’s like, ‘oh, I’m so rich and handsome, women like me and I’ve got a Maclaren!”
“Lego Batman” will open on February 10, 2017 – three years after the original.
This won’t be Cera’s first time in a sound booth, as he has also lent his distinct voice to Seth Rogen’s raunchy animated movie “Sausage Party”.
