Michael Chiklis Cast on ‘Gotham’

“He lands on the GCPD like a tornado, ripping out the dead wood of Gotham’s police force”. Besides all that metaphorical lumber-savaging, the “law-and-order zealot” Barnes becomes an ally and mentor to Ben McKenzie’s Jim Gordon, while also earning himself some sort of powerful enemy.

Chiklis has made hardened characters like Vic Mackey and Vincent Savino (Vegas) part of his legacy, but one of his earlier roles was the polar opposite of what those characters represented.

The Shield alum Michael Chiklis has joined the DC Comics adaptation as a series regular, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Chiklis seems especially well suited for the Gotham role as he has professional experience with both cops and superheroes. If his first appearance is anything like his first few scenes in The Shield, Gotham is going to be incredible this year.

As we previously mentioned, executive producer Danny Cannon explains that Season 2 will explore “what Gotham can give birth to when people start to feel power within themselves and don’t feel the urge to answer to morality”.

Emmy Award victor Michael Chiklis, who appeared in the most recent season of FX anthology “American Horror Story“, is joining season two of Fox drama “Gotham”.
