Michael Phelps, fiancee Nicole Johnson expecting first child

Michael Phelps and his fiancée Nicole Johnson are expecting their first baby together. “Today we’re over 12 weeks and it looks like we’re having a boy!!!” the 30-year-old captioned an Instagram pic of him and Nicole holding a tiny speedo.

In February, Phelps was engaged to Nicole Johnson, a former Miss California.

Not only did Michael Phelps propose to his girlfriend earlier in 2015, but now the happy couple are pregnant with their first child! We couldn’t be happier!!’

Having an infant on hand in the months leading up to the Games might prove to be a distraction for Phelps, but certainly a welcome one.

The swimmer recently revealed in an interview with Sports Illustrated what a crucial role Johnson played in getting him help after he was charged with a DUI last September.

So, it’s a boy who will be born in 1981!

Phelps has credited his turnaround to his decision to check into an alcohol-treatment facility. Going into 2008 and 2012, I didn’t do that. “Before I even went to court, I said to myself that I’m not going to drink until after [the 2016 Olympic Games] – if I ever drink again”, he told reporters in August.
