Michael Phelps was listening to Future’s “Stick Talk” during famous scowl

Introducing Future and the annual awards show, Phelps revealed it was one of his songs – “stick talk” – that was the inspiration for the Phelps Face.

I’m not sure I’d give Future the title as the most inspiring rapper, but, I understand where Phelps is coming from.

USA swimmer Michael Phelps absolutely owned the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

“I might have a lot of gold but this guy’s got all the platinum”, he continued. Phelps listened to Stick Talk while Chad le Clos “shadowboxed in front of him”.

Future then went on to perform several songs to a packed audience including “F– Up Some Commas”. Phelps, 31, asked the crowd at NYC’s Madison Square Garden.

Michael Phelps paid tribute to Hip-Hop music in a major way during the 2016 VMA’s. “His optimism is right there in his name”, Phelps said Sunday at the MTV VMAs while introducing the Atlanta rapper.
