Michael Vick leaves game after knee to head, probable to return

Steelers quarterback Landry Jones replaced a struggling Michael Vickand gave Pittsburgh’s offense new life with two touchdown passes to Martavis BryantSunday against the Cardinals.

What’s a worse sign for the Pittsburgh Steelers: that the Landry Jones Era briefly began, or that the Landry Jones Era seems like it could be a decent idea? The Steelers went for the two-point conversion, and failed when Jones’ pass intended for Antonio Brown was picked off by Patrick Peterson.

With Arizona stacking the line in anticipation of another handoff, Jones found Bryant on an eight-yard slant.

After failing to convert on the two-point try, the Steelers have since added a pair field goals to extend the lead to 18-13 in the fourth quarter. That’s multiple turnovers in three straight games.

With 2:20 left in the game, the Steelers started their drive on their own 10-yard line due to a personal foul penalty on James Harrison after the interception. Jones threw the ball hard and high for a soaring Bryant, who barely kept his body in bounds.

Roethlisberger of course has missed the past two games for the Steelers after spraining his left MCL as well as suffering bone bruising.

But with a defense that forced the Cardinals into too many errors, Jones was more enough to push their record to 4-2. After that, they travel to Kansas City to play against the Chiefs.
