Michelle Dockery cried at Downton Abbey ending
The final episode of ITV’s Downton Abbey will be broadcast on Christmas Day.
With this episode, we will get the answers of the questions like -will she get married to Bertie after Mary exposes her secret?
Downton Abbey ended on a high when Lady Edith finally got her happily ever after. Nobody regrets ending when we did.
An hour-long EastEnders episode went head-to-head with the last two-hour installment of ITV’s period drama.
Meanwhile, Jim Carter – who plays stern butler Carson – told the newspaper that the show will NOT end in tragedy like the 2012 Christmas special when Matthew Crawley died, leaving wife Mary a widow.
“Set on New Year’s Eve 1925, this year’s Christmas edition of Downton Abbey will be the fans’ last chance to spend time with Hugh Bonneville’s Lord Grantham and the rest of the residents”. The ultimate ever episode of “Downton Abbey” was probably the most seen programme in Britain on Christmas day, bringing in an enormous win for broadcaster ITV.
A spokeswoman for production company Carnival Films denied the cast had any part to play in the decision to end Downton after six series, with the final episode airing on Christmas Day. People ask if we knew what was going to happen when we started to make the first series and the answer is that, of course we had no idea. In 2014, it had drawn 7.61 million overnight viewers, ahead of BBC soap opera EastEnders, which aired opposite Downton Abbey, with 7.55 million. It was the only returning show to increase viewers on last Christmas, up over 1 million viewers.
Other popular entertainment programmes on Christmas Day were the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special and Mrs Brown’s Boys.
Tune in at 8.45pm on Christmas Day to find out.
