Michelle Duggar Records A Call In Opposition To the Anti-Discrimination Ordinance
On August 19, 2014, Michelle Duggar has made the headlines for recording a robocall. In the recording she speaks up against an anti-discrimination ordinance in Fayetteville.
Ordinance to establish a Civil Right Administrator
The audio of the protest was disclosed earlier this week by TMZ as well as Fayatteville Flyer. The local news forum, KFSM says that the regulation will establish a Civil Right Administrator, who will be using all the city’s power to make sure that whether all the residents of the city are having equal rights to housing, employment as well as public accommodation or not. As per the local news station, the ordinance is supposed creating, “civil rights administrator, who would be able to use the city’s powers to ensure ‘all persons within the city have equal access to employment, housing, and public accommodations.’”
The ordinance will also ensure that there is no harm caused to the business due to the discrimination on the basis of age, race, religion, gender and sexual orientation. It will also take care of the rights of the transgender to access the facilities consistent with their sexual characteristics identity.
Duggar’s appeal
Michelle Duggar’s issue appears to be along with the last factor, transgender. In her call, she mentioned that the law “would allow men — yes, I said men — to use women’s and girls’ restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas, and other areas that are designated for females only.” She continues saying that she does not believe that the civilian of Fayetteville would want males, who claims to be female, to enter to those places where only girls and women have access to go. At the end of the call the TLC reality star asked the voters to say “NO” to the ordinance.
The reality star has really done a great job.
