Michelle Obama Wears Vera Wang Gown at White House Dinner, Mark Zuckerberg
The 51-year-old First Lady wore a black, off-the-shoulder, cleavage-baring custom-made Vera Wang mermaid gown with a ruffled skirt and tulle straps.
The dinner, held to welcome Chinese president Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan, brought out the fashionista in many – especially the First Lady.
A powerhouse line-up of diplomacy, big business and Hollywood made Obama’s guest list for the extravagant feast at the White House to honor the visit of president Xi.
Social media quickly exploded with praise for the first lady. There was a big kerfuffle in the fashion world after the 2011 China state dinner, when Obama chose a red gown from British label Alexander McQueen. With her hair swept to one-side the 51-year-old accessorised her look with simple and chic long black earrings.
China’s first lady Peng Liyuan, also a fashion icon, selected an embellished silk gown in a rich aquamarine hue.
