Michigan’s trip to Penn State slated for noon kickoff on ABC
Kickoff for the Big Ten game has been set for Noon. In the last meeting against MI in Beaver Stadium, Bill Belton’s two-yard touchdown run lifted Penn State to a 43-40 victory in four overtimes.
The Lions have not yet released the list of players that will be a part of their Senior Day ceremony. The second-place Nittany Lions are one game behind Minnesota.
Shep Garner scored 10 of his 15 points in the second half and Penn State beat VMI, 62-50, at Bryce Jordan Center in the season opener for both teams. It won’t be quite as big as it could have been, though, since early starts generally equals less recruit traffic.
Penn State is 7-11 all-time against MI, but has won the last three home games against the Wolverines.
James Franklin’s Lions finally had their bye week before the Wolverines come to town, while Jim Harbaugh’s team scrapped with IN into overtime before winning 48-41. Joining Joe this season is Erin McCarthy, an intern for The Inquirer and a junior at Penn State majoring in print and digital journalism.
Any thoughts the Keydets had of making a comeback were quickly squelched by Garner, who scored seven consecutive points on two 3-point attempts and a layup to extend Penn State’s lead to 51-33 with six minutes left in the game.
