Michigan State football player claims he was punched by Draymond Green
At the time, Edmondson did not want to seek medical attention and refused to press charges against Green.
Draymond Green’s arrest early Sunday morning in East Lansing has drawn a lot of attention, including from athletes connected to Michigan State.
In a conference in Colorado, Green said the following, “When things happen, you meet them head on”. The officer wrote in the report that he “observed a taller, b/m, wearing a white t-shirt, open handedly slap another b/m across the face”.
Edmondson was back in the area the next night to celebrate his birthday and ran into Green again, where he says he told Green that “last night wasn’t cool”. “The police department is not confirming any arrest with that name”, said Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth, the East Lansing police department Public Information Officer.
The six-foot-seven, 230 pound All-Star is one of the best players in Michigan State history.
Green allegedly responded by saying things like, “Do you know who I am?”
Along with the mugshot, new details emerged of the series of events that led up to Green’s arrest outside an East Lansing, Mich., bar. Per the report, Green did not apologize for bumping him and went on to accuse Edmondson of not knowing who Green was and how he should be appreciative of Green’s contributions to Michigan State. The site reports that Green allegedly began poking Edmondson, which resulted in him telling Green to take his hands off of him. He blew a.10 and had to stay in jail until he sobered up. “And. just move on”. Green is scheduled to attend Team USA’s camp in Las Vegas July 18-21.
Green faces maximum penalties of a $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail.
Former NBA star Charles Barkley defended Green on “The Dan LeBetard Show”. Edmondson told police that the National Basketball Association star was talking to his roommate when he made a decision to tell him that “last night wasn’t cool”.
But before he can get to those business interests – and handle his legal troubles – the Rio Olympics loom large in Green’s immediate future.
