Michigan woman said she bought coffee for women who mocked her
What the women didn’t know, Hoffmeyer said, was that the doughnut holes she purchased were for her 2-year-old daughter, Liliana, who’d been up all night teething.
“I heard from behind me, “Oh my God, look at her hair it’s so nasty”. What she also did was what has gone viral – she paid for the women’s coffee and left to cry in her auto. “I’ve never seen them, met them and I don’t know why they would choose to say something like that”.
After posting about her experience to Facebook, Dianne’s story quickly went viral as hundreds of strangers reached out in support! Dianne Hoffmeyer was in line at a coffee shop with her toddler.
Hoffmeyer said she wanted to set a good example for her children by paying it forward instead of confronting the women.
She posted her encounter on Facebook, and it has since exploded worldwide.
“Just when you think there’s no one nice in the world, they’re all on my Facebook page,” she said.
A few days ago, a Michigan woman walked into a Tim Hortons coffee shop in the Fort Gratiot neighborhood.
“I was crying because I was hurt, I was crying because I was getting mad”.
“I could hear you”, she wrote, according to local WXYZ. Then when I ordered a coffee that I RARELY get to treat myself to, you both snickered and called me a “Retarded Lard Ass.’ I’ll have you know I’ve worked hard to lose 177 [pounds] in 22 months”. “All the things that I shared were how I felt about myself during different parts of my life”. But to show that my mother raised me better, I’d like to say [YOU’RE] WELCOME.
Since the incident, the Tim Hortons offered Hoffmeyer a gift card and some free products. “The encouragement and kindness that I’ve received from all over the place is fantastic”, she said.
