Micromax Canvas 5 Launched with 4G support, 5.2-inch Display
Indian smartphone company Micromax has recently launched Canvas 5, its latest flagship smartphone that comes with a price tag of Rs 11,999.
The new flagship Micromax Canvas 5 runs Android Lollipop OS. This smartphone is available in Space Grey and Tan Brown color options, while it is priced at Rs. 11,999 ($183). Even the software experience is very standard and doesn’t offer anything unique, although it will be getting the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the coming future. The phone features a 5.2 FHD screen with corning gorilla glass and has a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.
That brings us to the most important part, the phone’s core – The Canvas 5 runs on an 1.3GHz Octa Core processor (Mediatek MT6753) coupled with 3GB DDR3 RAM.
Like the Amaze, the Micromax device clicks pictures through a 13MP autofocus rear shooter and a 5MP front-facing lens. For storing content, the smartphone has 16GB storage along with microSD card support for expansion up to 128GB. The connectivity section includes Global Positioning System, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM, 3G, and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by a few LTE networks in India).
Micromax Canvas 5 will go loggerheads with other devices in its price range which includes the likes of Xiaomi Michigan 4i and Moto G3, not to mention the slew of other budget phones in the market.
Design wise, the phone has a metal frame and a faux leather back.
The Micromax Canvas 5 sports an ambient light sensor, gravity sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. It is Flipkart exclusive and comes bundled with Airtel’s double data offer on 4G SIM card.
Today, Micromax released a brand new smartphone in its Canvas series, called the Canvas 5. It basically lets you take a photo with both the rear and the front camera of the smartphone at the same time.
Micromax has partnered with Bajaj for a 12 months zero interest EMI scheme with 4 months of advance.
A 2,900mAh battery is worth 10 good hours of talk time and 275 hours of standby mode. The company is also claiming 7 days service to be offered at the consumers’ doorstep.
