Micromax to launch affordable smartphone YU4711 after YU5050 under Yu Brand
It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Take into account that the budget phone specialist Xiaomi also came out with a flagship phone, the Mi4, which they priced over 15K, and this is Yu’s first true flagship phone as well. A listing on Indian import / export tracking website Zauba, has revealed that several units of a YU handset going by the moniker YU5050 has been imported into India last week at a price of Rs. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is also showing for this device and it’s thought that it could be a lesser version of the Yu Yuphoria. We can likely expect this offering to remain in the under Rs 12,000 range.
Perhaps the company avoided this since it could have raised the price to the extent that Micromax Yu5050 would no longer possess the title of being the most affordable Snapdragon 810 smartphone out there. 20,295 although this is rarely the final sale price. From what we can see so far the Yu YU4711 will be equipped with a 1.21GHz Snapdragon 410 processor and have 1GB of RAM. Much like Yu5050, the Yu4711 is also likely to run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based CyanogenOS. The Yu 5050 is seen scoring 1353 in single-core test and 4622 in the multi-core test. According to multiple leaks from Geekbench and Zauba, YU is seemingly just not satisfied with peddling only mid-range and entry-level handsets. However, all the invites that were sent to the media had a tag line saying when future meets past. “The next wonder will be unveiled” and was accompanied by an image of a handset.
Meanwhile, with the aim of spreading the product branding across the mobile markets, the company has already started teasing the upcoming devices via social platforms. We’re not sure at this point if both the YU 5050 and the 4711 will be limited to Snapdeal, but it’s quite clear that the 5050 will be the most popular device at the company’s event tomorrow.
