Microsoft aggressive in upgrade download

Windows Central, a fan site that’s provided accurate information about Windows Phones in the past, believes that the Lumia 650 will get announced sometime this month, before going on sale directly through Microsoft’s website. The device is said to be smaller than the Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 950 iPhone rivals that Microsoft revealed back in October at its Windows 10 Devices Event.

But what makes Windows 10 a dreaded upgrade for most Windows users? For instance, pasting files into a new.ZIP file should now work properly, and suggested apps should no longer appear in the Start menu if users have disabled this function in Windows Settings.

On the software end, as expected, Windows 10 Mobile will run the show.

Slow ring members of the Windows Insider program are now receiving the recently released Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.71 on their devices. Conversely, although Apple suffered heavy declines in tablets, iOS grew 10 percent and OS X notebooks 7 percent.

Even if your business hasn’t made the leap to Windows 10, you can’t live in the past when it comes to your default web browser. Other devices that are compatible with Windows 10 include tablets and smartphones. After that’s done, “Azure AD will automatically start syncing settings through the Azure cloud using enterprise accounts”, Microsoft explained.

Reports stated that most users feel more in control when using previous Windows versions. That’s not recommended, though, because you might miss important security fixes.

Medium and large businesses were the most likely to have at least one Windows 10 machine Spiceworks found – with 31 percent of firms with more than 500 people trialling the OS, compared to 10 percent of companies with 50 employees or fewer.

About 18% of Spiceworks customers are either testing Windows 10, or already have a bunch of employees using it, according to the company’s research.

Windows 10 is now doing best in North American businesses (19% of them have some Windows 10 PCs on their networks) followed by EMEA (18%), Latin America (16%) and APAC (14%).

The introductory upgrade prices for Vista’s successor, Windows 7, were described as a “screaming deal” at $50 and $100 for the Home Premium and Pro editions, respectively.

If you haven’t upgraded to the latest version of Internet Explorer, Chrome or Safari then it’s time to make the move.

That 1.5-point difference may not seem significant on its own, but it represented more than 13% of Microsoft’s overall decline in browser user share over the last 12 months.
