Microsoft announces ‘Halo Wars 2’ for XBOX One, Windows 10
The DVR features, set to roll out next year, will let Xbox One users record live over-the-air TV, schedule recordings and side-load shows to mobile devices for on-the-go viewing, Microsoft announced Tuesday at Gamescon 2015. If Microsoft allows them they will be able to provide cross-buy and cross-play support for their games on both Xbox One and Windows 10 powered PCs.
The company is not stopping there.
Considering the latest developments, reasons for keeping an Xbox 360 are dwindling, and with backward compatibility and other cool features like over the air DVR, the Xbox One could become an all-in-one entertainment system for Microsoft users.
Richard Irving, who is working on the re-designed user interface of the Xbox One, tells Gamespot that, “You need an external hard-drive specifically for DVR because we want to keep the [storage] paths optimized between playing games and watching TV”.
The Xbox One Games with Gold lineup in September 2015 will likely include four free games in the lineup, which is much better than the normal two games that sometimes repeat a title from the month previously. Depending on the size and speed you desire, external hard drives can run anywhere between $60 to $150.
As part of a limited edition Halo 5: Guardians bundle, the new model sports a finish and design based on the game’s new Spartan, Locke – and the same goes for the packed-in controller.
PlatinumGames’ upcoming action-adventure title “Scalebound“, another Xbox One-exclusive title, was also showcased, with a gameplay demo showing the main character named Drew as he was fighting with a fleet of armed soldiers with the help of his dragon.
There are new Xbox One games being released with every passing week. As well as expanding the library of games that’s available and bringing some of the features of Windows 10 to the console, the update has more to offer. The new console launches on october 20th and is available for Pre- Order.
